August Athlete of the Month: Sarah Buckland _______________________________________ Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit? A. On and off for almost 4 years. 1 year starting off, then almost a year being prego with my first little man, then a year postpartum. I then took a break to work on skills/ lifts and was prego with my second little man, but as soon as I was cleared to work out, back to CF, and in to Jääkarhu (since December 1, 2017)!!! ••• Q: How did you get started? A. I went to a few community workouts around town, had a few friends that did it, and then after doing a trial month at a box around the corner from my house, I was hooked!! ••• Q: What are your favorite CrossFit Movements? A: That’s a toss up. I know it’s weird, but I LOVE overhead squats and handstand push-ups! Mobility/Auxiliary and Skill work for weeks Aug 15-29 _______________________________________________________ Mobility/Aux Notes 3 Sets: • Glute Bridge with yoga block: keep tension on the block by squeezing throughout entire movement • L-Sit Single Arm KB Strict Press: Bring the KB to end range of motion, thumb to collar bone/ Keep the rib cage down at the top. • Hollow to Tuck: maintain lower back on the ground.
